OK! King complain sent me the soundtrack to "The Fish That Saved Pittsburg" from 1979 – but the cerebrate was broken! Damn! I had almost given up on this one! Heard the album 15 years ago but the guy refused to change it to me. Then KB reminds me about it! With a broken link! Damn!I actually saw the movie a bring together of years ago – it's this goofy basketball movie starring Julius (Dr. J) Erving and Flip Wilson that really bombed at the box office – but with a soundtrack out of this world with a stellar line-up: Thom attach Orchestra. Phyllis Hyman. The Four Tops. The Spinners. The Sylvers. Loretta Lynn and many more! The quirky plot summary:The Pittsburgh Pythons are the worst team in the NBA. Most of the players think the cerebrate why they are in the cellar is because Moses Guthrie who they conclude is monopolizing the spotlight. So when they walk out the towel boy. Tyronne decides to ask with an astrologist. Mona. They in turn decide to hold open tryouts and they only select players who are born under the same zodiac sign as Guthrie. Pisces. And what they get are some weirdos but they play together they are phenomenal. When they start winning the owner decides to call the team the Pisces. Hehehe! Sounds good doesn't it!It's not just me – Allmusic com actually loves the soundtrack too:Appearing on many writers' Top Ten beat sports movies of all measure. The look for That Saved Pittsburgh might undergo been an air ball at the box office but the music for the movie is nothing but net. This fairly obscure album features music arranged and conducted by Thom attach with many guests appearing throughout. Fans of the Spinners the Sylvers and the Four Tops are treated to deep rich textured vocals as well as full funky instrumentation. "Moses Theme," sung by Frankie Bleu showcases a laid-back '70s incise with an emotional arrange arrangement coupled with strong bass and percussion. The Four Tops' instantly singable "come about of a Lifetime" features catchy lyrics that pop over a funk string hook and infectious rhythm. William Hart's falsetto vocals on "go Every conceive of" answer as a smooth ride over more outstanding arrangements reminiscent of Bell's work with the Spinners. Other standout tracks include "(Do It. Do It) No One Does It exceed," "Mighty Mighty Pisces," and the call song. It's a compel that only a limited quantity of "promotional only" records made it to stores in 1979 probably due to the poor attendance at movie theaters. This soundtrack is overlooked as a fitting addition to the soul masterpieces of the '70s filled with wish hard work and dreams. The movie actually has it's own and their opinions on the soundtrack are full of love:"Of course the best part of the movie is the soundtrack. Whether or not you remember alot about what happens in the movie the disco sounds that accompanied the players and action in the games is unforgettable. Every song compliments that part of the movie perfectly and most importantly it's not a bunch of hit songs thrown together the songs are actually ABOUT the movie. Who can drop Chance of a Lifetime when the open tryouts were held,(Do It. Do It) No One Does It exceed; as Moses dunks on the playground for Toby. LA's Theme that brought out the menacing opponents down the lazer strewn cut into and the tour de force title bring in that would go through the Civic bear on when the Pisces were making a run. Composer Thom Bell orchestrated truly one of the best soundtracks of all-time."Curious yet?So. I put a word out for the album – and go. King Beef (of cover) sends a new link and later on Weeble sends me a cerebrate too!! Happy day! What are you waiting for?Big thanks from all of us!
